Representation For Accountants

We assist accountants with regard to regulatory matters, such as restrictions placed upon or the loss of your insolvency or financial services licences or audit registration.

Regulatory case representation for accountants

Cope's has a long and successful history of dealing with regulatory cases. We have represented accountants in regulatory matters at the ICAEW and ACCA.

Regulatory matters

We assist accountants with regard to all regulatory matters, such as restrictions placed upon or the loss of your insolvency or financial services licences or audit registration. We will assist with regard to the drafting of written representations to the regulatory committee.

You have the right to challenge a decision on regulatory matters by appealing to a review committee and ultimately to the Appeal Committee. Again, we can arrange representation either by Chris Cope or by Counsel

Disqualification proceedings

If a company in which you are a director has become insolvent. Directors Disqualification Act proceedings may have been instituted against you. If you have already instructed solicitors, you may need separate legal advice concerning the likely action to be taken by your professional body in the event of a disqualification. We can provide that advice. All too often, we find that other solicitors when giving general legal advice do not take into account the likely action to be taken by the professional body, following a disqualification order.

If, on the other hand, you require legal assistance, we can provide both advice and representation concerning Directors Disqualification cases.

In the unfortunate event that a disqualification order is made against you, we will represent your interests before the professional body, including making representations to the Investigation Committee and/or representing you before the Disciplinary Committee.
